Dr Rebecca Samuel Akpang studied Banking and Finance at the undergraduate level, and
commenced her career as a Banker, before eventually going into postgraduate studies that
ended with a doctorate degree in Business Management. She is an accomplished consultant

international environmental programmes like the UN Decade on Biodiversity (2011 – 2020)
and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021 – 2030). In 2009 (23 rd to 27 August),
she attended the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) “World Conference on Ecological
Restoration at Perth, Western Australia”, with the theme “Making Change in a Changing
World”. Since then, her commitment to ecological (ecosystems) restoration activities in
Nigeria and Africa has been total and overwhelming. She is highly committed to the vision,
mission, and programs of the African Ecological Restoration Foundation (AERF). AERF is
happy to have her as one of her Members of the Board of Trustees.
